What are ‘Fractional Resources’?

Fractional resources are skilled experts in their respective fields who commit an agreed percentage of their availability to fulfilling a role in your organisation, sometimes in an interim capacity, but other times as a long-term arrangement.

Some organisations appoint a ‘virtual’ Head of Marketing to ensure quality marketing results without the financial commitment of employment a full-time Head of Marketing/Marketing Manager. Their virtual Marketing Manager may work remotely, onsite, or in a hybrid capacity for the agreed days (usuallly 2-3 days/week, and usually on fixed days) to drive forward the marketing initiatives for their organisation.

  • Quality Manager: Manage your organisations Quality and Compliance, with particular regards to standards compliance, continuous improvement, successfully preparing for and passing audits (NDIS Practice Standards, Human Services Quality Framework, National Standards for Disability Services, Community Services Quality Governance Framework, etc…) and conducting internal audits.

  • CMO/Marketing Manager: Whether you call them Head of Marketing, Marketing Manager, or Marketing Assistant, if your organisation doesn’t have the skills or financial resources for a dedicated marketing function, we can appoint a dedicated fractional Marketing Manager to oversee your marketing activities, playing a hands-on role where necessary in comms, website updates, etc…, and coordinate external providers such as printers, web developers, and digital advertising agencies.

  • HR Manager: In small-medium non-profit organisations (revenue <$10M annually) there are frequently a number of opportunities for improvements to systems, processes, and efficiency within the Human Resources / People and Culture function. If your organisation is still using spreadsheets to track employee certifations and credentials, or manually writing job advertisements and uploading them to job boards, our ‘Virtual HR Manager’ can dramatically improve the quality and efficiency of your HR functions.

  • Fractional CEO: In some circumstances, smaller non-profit organisations require the leadership and skills of a CEO but do not have the resources to appoint a full-time candidate. Subject to availability, and with careful consideration of the organisation’s needs, the Board may choose to engage an experienced and competent CEO in a fractional role. Our founder, Philip Brookes, will from time to time take on such appointments, or may assist in identifying a suitable individual through his extensive network.
